Aylen Olivera

Aylen Olivera is a financial therapist and somatic practitioner who writes about money the way a trauma therapist talks about the body — with precision, compassion, and zero tolerance for the toxic positivity that says “just change your mindset.” The daughter of immigrant parents who never agreed about money but both understood it carried weight far beyond what was in the account, she brings a multicultural perspective to financial healing.

She spent her twenties drowning in student loan debt while working at a community mental health clinic, performing financial competence at brunch while checking her bank balance in the bathroom. She now specializes in financial trauma and money-related anxiety, and writes a newsletter called The Debt We Carry — a gathering place for people who need to talk about money the way they talk about their childhood: honestly, painfully, and with the hope that understanding changes something.
